Amy Bird originally hails from the prairies and is a member of Peguis First Nation. She now calls Halifax home and became the Director of Halifax Humanities in 2022. Amy holds a BA in Humanities from Briercrest College and Seminary where she studied literature, history, and philosophy. She also studied in the Classics department at Dalhousie University, where she first heard about Halifax Humanities from a Halifax Humanities 101 alum she met in an Ancient Greek class.
