Weldon Literary Moot

Each year, law students and faculty from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University, along with local lawyers, judges, and actors, create a mock trial of a literary figure as a fundraiser in support of The Halifax Humanities Society.

2025: The Trial of Peter Pan – A Fundraiser for Halifax Humanities

On Wednesday, March 12 at 7pm, Dalhousie law students hosted the 14th Annual Weldon Literary Moot in support of The Halifax Humanities Society. This year, the comic mock trial was based on the characters of J.M. Barrie’s Peter Pan, as the Court heard complaints against the notorious Captain Hook. Hook won over the audience and the Neverland Court is surprisingly democratic.

This year’s Literary Moot was generously supported by our sponsors: Weldon McInnis, Kimball Law, North Star Immigration Law, Cox & Palmer, and Highlander Law Group.
